Welcome to 3CS.
This term, our theme is Delicious Dahl, where we will be studying and celebrating the work of Roald Dahl. We’re already looking forward to our Roald Dahl Day on Thursday 13th September – watch out for pictures of us in our costumes!
In English, we’re going to be developing our vocabulary and creating work in lots of different genres. Lots of our inspiration will come from our class novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
In maths, we will continue to use Big Maths to help us become more fluent and confident with new skills like column addition and subtraction, to name but two, whilst continuing to develop our ability to solve reasoning problems.
In Science, we’re looking at materials and the three states of matter. I’m sure we’ll be able to get lots of work involving lovely chocolate in our lessons in this subject! In Art, we’ll study the work of Quentin Blake in particular. In Geography we’ll continue with our map skills.
Our PE days are Monday (outdoor) and Wednesday (indoor). On Mondays this term, we’ll be working on Invasion Games and Athletics, whilst covering Dance during our indoor sessions.
