Welcome back to school after the half term holiday. I hope you all had lots of fun and made many magical memories!
I am sure we are going to have an exciting and fun filled half term in the lead up to Christmas!! I have been really pleased with your hard work, determination and perseverance so far this year and can see you have been trying extremely hard with the presentation of your work. Keep it up 5JM!
This term we will continue learning all about The Ancient Egyptians – a fantastic topic to start our Year 5 journey!
We will continue to enjoy reading ‘Secrets Of A Sun King’ which is a brand new book written by Emma Carroll and will be completing many cross-curricular activities based around this exciting story. We will also be taking part in a day long Egyptian workshop on 30th October run by Mr Egypt!!! I am really looking forward to the Egyptian breakfast we will be having along with the many other activities he has planned for us.
In Science we will be learning about and investigating Electricity. We will be having a fun filled Science day where we will be able to complete many different activities and enjoy investigating circuits.
In Maths we will be focussing on the four rules of number and completing lots of reasoning activities. Please do not worry if you find Maths difficult! In 5JM we help each other, we persevere and we rise to the challenge! We learn that Maths can be fun, interesting and exciting!!!
As Christmas approaches we will be enjoy creating Winter Art pictures and writing Winter poems for the display board outside our classroom. We will also be busy rehearsing Carols for our Carol Service which will be taking place in school on the 18th and 19th of December.
