Welcome to 6DDM taught by MrsDickens-McCreight.

Hello and welcome back to our final term together at PLCS! Due to this being our final term together, lots of visitors will be in to see the children from their relevant Secondary school choice along with the children themselves visiting their chosen school. Exciting times lie ahead!

This term sees lots of events in the calendar already:

W/C 8th May - SATs week (this week will also mean that the annual, free breakfast club for the Year 6 will be available – Monday through to Thursday) along with a post-SAT treat of bowling and a visit from the ice-cream van!

Friday 19th May - will see some children take part in a football match against Willoughby Road Primary School

A further date for your diary needs to be Monday 12th June as we are visiting the Museum in York – Please note that this will involve the children arriving early and also leaving late.

Our Summer Topic

This term we will be continuing with creating that special space in our school grounds and hopefully see the fruition of our hard work with the completion of our school Peace Garden. As well as this, our new topic for this last term is Ancient Rome. We will be looking at the lifestyles led along with the lasting legacy that this civilisation left for modern Britain.

Our PE days are Monday (Outdoor) and Wednesday (indoor). Please make sure that you are dressed appropriately.

Diaries are to be brought into school on a Friday so that reading can be checked and Pupil of the Week information can be communicated. It is a school expectation that children will read three times a week. Beat That will take place on a Thursday with the same weeks sheet being brought home to practice. Spellings will be given out on a Friday to allow time to be practiced at home and then tested the following week.

Star Writing

Star Writing

This edition of star writing comes in the shape of a Biography of Tutankhmun. We incorporated the 3 different types of parenthesis in the writing for extra information along with ensuring we had subheadings, ‘did you know’ sections and images with captions.
