Our first topic this year was the Night Gardener, a charming little book that we then rewrote and innovated. Alongside the Night Gardener, we covered our first science topic of “Can shadows dance in the night?” This allowed us to explore lights, shadows and electricity.
To round off the term, our second topic was the “Struggle for Anglo-Saxon Britain” and focused on the near constant conflict between the Vikings and Anglo Saxons and how this affected the country. During the topic, we were visited by an Anglo-Saxon warrior who brought artefacts and equipment to look at whilst also exploring other aspects of Anglo-Saxon life.
