Autumn Term 2017 Introduction

Autumn term topic:

In the first term, we started off our topic was The Night Gardener, which is a great little book in which we read and studied in detail. At the end of the first half term and to rewrite the story in English. In addition to The Night Gardner our science topic was ‘Can shadows dance in the night?’ in which we looked in detail of Nightlights and how a circuitry and electricity works.

For the rest of the term we had a topic of Vikings and Anglo – Saxons in which we have looked at Viking Life, why people invade and settle, laws and justice, and timelines. As part of the topic, a real Viking visited the school to educate Years 3 & 4 on Life as an Anglo-Saxon or a Viking. This was a ‘hands-on’ enjoyable experience in which the children dressed up as either a Viking or Anglo-Saxon for the day.
